Kari Sam Wuhrer, born April 28, 1968 is an American Actress and Singer. She began her professional career as a teenager and is best recognized for her role as Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and also as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), who is a payroll manager, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and automobile salesman. Her family has given her three brothers. As a child She sang in clubs and went out to perform. Kari Samantha Wuhrer, an American model and actress, was born in Brookfield, CT on April 28, 1967. Kari is the youngest of three children. In her teens performing in nightclubs, she was able to make a name for herself by slipping away to take a break. Kari began acting at the Wooster school at the age of 13 before going on to study drama in the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University Marymount Manhattan College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art under renowned Uta Hagen. Kari started acting when she was still a teenager. She had her first major appearance with MTV Remote Control in 1987.
