Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. Her father is Nigerian Swiss and her mother is English. Her family was raised in a South London council estate, and when she was 14, attended The Brit School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was a part of various performances on stage during her time at school, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe got her start in acting through a short film called Storm Damage. Since then, she's made guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion-picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Her popularity led her to play Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside in the role of Ollie. Also, the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the 2008 comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast in the US on The CW before being cancelled. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe appeared in all episodes of the show's second season as an regular. But in May of 2013, news broke that Madekwe will be departing the show following her appearance as a guest on the first episode of the series' third season. The actress played Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress, who was born into an extended family. She was born to Roy and Patty Leggat. Her parents, Roy and Patty, as well as her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley's brothers were all extremely athletic, and they played baseball as well as hockey throughout the winter and summer months. They grew up playing the arenas and baseball. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She would dance. So when she was 2 and a 1/2, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance from that moment. When she was in the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip-hop. Ashley was awarded the top soloist honor at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention the few.
