Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be among the top athletes. The 2016 Olympics took place in Rio de Janeiro and Biles was the U.S.'s the first gymnast of female gender ever to win 4 gold medals. She also won the world championship for all-around 3 times in succession (2013-15). Biles along with their younger sibling Adria, who were adopted from Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles' grandparents in Spring Texas (in the Houston region) were raised there. Simone began to take an interest in the sport of gymnastics as a young girl during a day-care field trip at Bannon's Gymnastix and stayed there for 11 years, under supervision of coach Aimee Boorman. Biles took home a medal in vault, and a bronze medal in floor gymnastics at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. She began participating in the elite level of competition. Biles was a dominant athlete just two years later. Biles stood out for her consistently high performance and exuberant character, as well as the difficult routines she performed at each of the four events such as vault, uneven bars and balance beam.
