Dua lipa is an English musician and singer born on 22nd August 1995 in London United Kingdom. Following her stint as a model and songwriter, she decided to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album titled "Dua Lipa" in 2017. The album reached 3rd place in the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles which included Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. top-ranked song New Rules which peaked at sixth within the United States. Lipa received an award at the Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act, and her album was certified platinum across the globe in a variety of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Through her maternal grandmother, she has Bosnian descent. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Her grandfathers were both historians. The siblings of Lipa are Rina as well as Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by her father, who is also the lead guitar player and the singer of The Kosovan band Oda. His father would play music at home, and included songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was only five when she first began to sing. She attended the Sylvia Young Theater School was where she first began singing as she was nine years old. Lipa performed If I Ain't gone You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. In August 2015 the debut track of hers New Love came out.
